Celebrating Social Prescribing Day 2024

Alyson McGregor, Director of Altogether Better and a member of the Social Prescribing Network, celebrates the remarkable changes introduced within general practice over the last few years, to deliver a new model of care with social prescribing at its centre.
“We meet social prescribers on a daily basis through our development programmes and what we see is a group of people who are passionate, committed, resourceful, resilient and are bringing new ways of seeing the world and a different kind of creative way of working into primary care… we can see the impact that they’re having.
So today’s a day to say thank you, not only to the social prescribing link workers who are doing such a good job, but also to the GP practices who are stepping up and developing general practice fit for the future, ”
